User Abilities
User Abilities
Extra capabilities that can be assigned to workspace users — test driver, technician, passout approver, and more.
Abilities are extra capabilities assigned to existing workspace users. They determine what a user can do beyond their base role — for example, being scheduled as a test driver, performing vehicle maintenance, or approving vehicle passouts.
A user can hold multiple abilities across different projects, and abilities are managed independently from roles and permissions.
Available Abilities
Test Driver
Can be assigned to shifts in usage plans and scheduled to operate vehicles during testing
Technician
Can perform vehicle maintenance and technical inspections
Passout Approver
Can authorise vehicle passouts before drivers take possession
How Abilities Work
- Abilities are assigned to a user at the workspace level by an Admin or Owner, then activated for each project where the ability is needed.
- A user with the Test Driver ability appears in the driver pool for usage plan scheduling.
- Abilities do not replace roles — they layer on top. A user still needs the appropriate role to access the project.
- You can see a user's abilities on the project members list under the User Abilities column.
