Workspaces
What a workspace is, how it organises projects and users, and how to navigate the workspace level.
A workspace is the top-level organisational unit in Fleetwise. It groups projects, users, and shared resources under one umbrella. Most organisations use a single workspace, but companies with separate divisions can use multiple.
What a Workspace Contains
Projects
Each workspace holds one or more projects. Projects contain the vehicles, requests, and allocations for a specific program or team.
Users
All workspace members are managed here. Users are then assigned to individual projects with specific roles.
Resources
Shared resources — test drivers, equipment, and facilities — that can be used across projects.
Settings
Workspace-level configuration including permissions, notifications, custom data, and integrations.
Workspace vs. Project
| Level | Scope | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Workspace | Organisation or division | "Acme Automotive R&D" |
| Project | Program, model year, or team | "Model X 2027 Validation" |
Workspace settings (users, permissions, custom fields) apply across all projects. Project settings (specs, tags, members) are scoped to that project.
