Prompt patterns and best practices for getting useful responses from Oscar.
What Oscar Helps With
Oscar is the FleetWise AI assistant for operational questions. It helps users retrieve fleet information, understand platform workflows, and answer common planning questions using natural language.
How to Use Oscar
Prompt Types You Can Use
Simple Prompts
Good for single factual checks. Examples: "How many vehicles are currently available?", "Which vehicles are in maturity level 3?", "Do we have any German-spec vehicles this week?"
Moderate Prompts
Good for filtered questions with time windows. Examples: "Which vehicles are free from May 15 to May 22 for project Atlas?", "Are there any ADAS High vehicles available in Germany next week?"
Advanced Prompts
Good for cross-entity or decision-oriented questions. Examples: "Can I extend allocation for vehicle 2334 by 3 days?", "Show my current allocations and any conflicts by end date."
Follow-Up Prompts
Use context from prior answers to iterate quickly. Examples: "Can I extend that one?", "What is the next best option?", "Is this the same vehicle as before?"
Spec and Feature Discovery
Examples: "Which paint color variants exist in this project fleet?", "Which vehicles support this engine variant?"
Statistical and Summary Prompts
Examples: "What percentage of our fleet is allocated today?", "Which team has the highest active allocation count?"
Platform Help Prompts
Examples: "How do I submit a vehicle request correctly?", "How does allocation status change from tentative to active?"
Prompting Best Practices
Tips for Better Results
- Be specific about project, dates, and requirements. - Use natural language; strict command syntax is not required. - Ask follow-up questions to narrow a result set. - If a result is too broad, add constraints (location, time window, attributes). - Treat Oscar as decision support, then validate critical actions in the UI.
